We are surrounded by aesthetics, and nowadays it’s important to find the perfect balance between beauty and functionality. The studio is characterized by a Babylonian style, since Bal El means ‘to mix’ and it is precisely what the team o design professional does – mix. They mix different cultures, styles, concepts, color palettes, aesthetics, not following any rule, and, in their own way, create something completely new. Today, we’ll open the doors of one of their amazing design projects: an art déco inspired apartment in the Russian city of St Petersburg. Grab your notebook and start collecting some décor ideas for your spring home renovation!
Welcome, and please come in! A design firm that challenges rules, but this particular residential apartment has definitely some art déco touch. Art Déco was a style very popular in the late ’20s and ’30s, and it’s the design that mixes glamour and sophistication with modernity. Repetition, geometric design, clean lines, and bold shapes and colors are what best characterizes it.
In this living room décor, full of natural light, we can definitely see the clean lines and neutral colors mixed with the blue and yellow of the mid-century armchairs and single sofa. The rug is playing an important role in this set since it’s adding a little bit of modern design with the abstract shape and colors. We can also see a crystal classic chandelier, and minimalistic floor lamps: the perfect meeting between the past and the present.
