This year the brand has launched Majolica, a stunning new collection of wallpapers and fabrics inspired by the intense hues of Majolica ceramics and just like the ceramics, this collection embodies is Italian tin-glazed pottery dating from the Renaissance period.
In this collection Guild used creative and bold colors, and spans from digitally printed contemporary florals and botanical studies to elegant geometric designs and marbleized textures. And it’s not all old-fashioned florals. Larger scale flowers appear like abstract contemporary marks creating a modern, graphic looking print with a very traditional inspiration.
The Majolica collection balances exquisite design with hardwearing practicality and versatility in mind so the customer can mix brights with neutrals in the summer house or as upholstery on simple garden furniture.
Guild thinks textures are really important, whether its fabric, wallpaper, paint, rugs or finished products, Guild is also a well-known and enthusiastic advocate for combining multiple prints in the one scheme.
