London Design Fair 2019 is Coming Up and Here’s Our Guide ⇒ From September 19-22, London will be buzzing with design news thanks to another edition of the London Design Fair! Taking place at Old Truman Brewery, it will bring together 550 exhibitors from 36 countries. Here you’ll be able to find the latest design trends regarding furniture, lighting, textiles, materials as well as the most astonishing conceptual installations from the world’s best minds.

The Event

Located in the creative heart of East London, the London Design Fair is a four-day industry design event that brings together 550 exhibitors from 36 countries, including independent designers, established brands, international country pavilions, features, and exhibitions. As the most international trade destination during the annual London Design Festival over 29,000 influential: retail buyers, architects, interior designers, press, designers and design-savvy public attend to see and specify the very latest furniture, lighting, textiles, materials and conceptual installations from around the world.

For the 2019 edition of London Design Fair, collectable design gallery Adorno join with Crossovers, featuring 12 countries, 12 curators and an astounding 100 designs; The Bathroom Gallery, run in partnership with ELLE Decoration launches, featuring an expertly edited selection of leading bathroom brands across the top floor of the venue, and lighting show [d]arc room relocates to the Fair showcasing an astounding 75 decorative, architectural and technical lighting brands.

London Design Fair remains the go-to destination for global design during the London Design Festival, hosting an impressive 12 country pavilions across the ground floor of the Fair. This year’s countries include Uruguay, Chile, and the Czech Republic alongside returning showcases from Barcelona, Italy, and Sweden.

Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Oriental backs on to Hyde Park, with a welcome new outdoor terrace. You’ll find a Far Eastern slant on the part Edwardian, part contemporary ground floor but corridors and bedrooms that are so deeply traditional in decoration that you’ll need to pinch yourself to remember that you’re in an Oriental hotel at all. The Langham is currently one of London’s finest hotels and is now in the hands of hoteliers from Hong Kong. Once you get over the fact that there is absolutely nothing British about the way the Langham now looks, you realize that its new quasi-Oriental slant is really very welcoming and well-executed. The hotel’s restaurant, Landau is a beautiful oval room designed by David Collins (also responsible for the hotel’s romantic new cocktail bar, Artesian).

Alain Ducasse

Alain Ducasse’s three Michelin Star restaurant is placed on Dorchester Hotel, a London Landmark. In this luxury restaurant, people are treated with French Charm and eat classical food. The Executive Chef Jean-Phillipe Blondet is very rigorous about finding the freshest and seasonable produce, of course, and he is meticulous because has been trained by Ducasse, who always says that “the product is the only truth”. If you are looking for a little bit of French style in the heart of London, this is the spot to go to.

Céleste

This brilliant Michelin-starred restaurant is led by Executive Chef Florian Favario and offers amazing courses with European influences. The glass roof of the restaurant offers a magical experience, radiating the gleam of opulence, so you can’t help but feel indulged the minute you’re shown to your seat. The richly decorated dining room allows guests a visual treat, from natural daytime luminosity to a chandelier-lit evening glow.
