The Beefeater Distillery in Kennington is not only the last remaining major gin distillery in London, but it is also a fantastic location for telling the illustrious Beefeater brand story. Four-by-Two have had the privilege of working with the Beefeater brand team over the last ten years to design and develop their communication and hosting facilities.

Whether leading super-creative concept thinking or rolling out high-end global retail concepts, overseeing once-in-a-lifetime residential projects, unveiling immersive visitor experiences or re-imagining neighbourhood restaurants and bars, Four-by-Two is dedicated to delivering unique spaces and experiences.

The studio started off by developing the reception area before going on to create in-market facilities for invited guests, including a boardroom lecture and meeting spaces; a director’s office for the Master Distiller; an archive; and perhaps best of all, a fully functioning mixology bar in the heart of the distillery. Where better to produce the perfect serve of Beefeater Gin than at the distillery itself? And that was all before they did the master planning and interiors — in collaboration with the Beefeater brand team, of course, and the brand communication team at Contagious and architects Lee Boyd — to create the visitor centre, which officially opened to the public in 2015.
