So when it came to the renovation of his own home design, he made the decision of turning it into a very unique and exquisite design, filled with ’60s vibes and design ideas.
The size of his home is very modest (just about 940 square feet) but that didn’t stop Mclain from creating an extremely luxury home with his very own signature stamp.
To showcase his own signature eclecticism in his home design, while still honouring the building’s 1960s roots, McClain balanced the mid-century modern vibe with a darker, moodier, collected approach.
For him, the starting point was the kitchen. Having a photo reference of how it used to look like back in the ’60s, it was just a matter of merging that with his own interior design ideas. For the living room design, low-profile mid-century furniture is punctuated by a blue sofa topped with Picasso-style pillows from Greece, a six-piece mixed metal coffee table, and a statement light fixture in a silver finish.
