One of the reasons why Halpern Design has a unique tendency to explore many styles has to do with the fact that in his childhood, Michael was a person very much in contact with art and design. This passion for variety shows in this unique interior design project: a duplex with a very colourful atmosphere. In every room, there’s a colourful surprise awaiting.
Blue blends well with yellow, as we can tell from the living and dining room displays. In the living room, this very same colour dominates the majority of the scenario, creating a relaxing and introspective ambience. Of course, there are many more colours that make an impact on the scenarios, two of them being orange, and purple, which are known for being colours you have to handle with care in interior decoration. However, this goes to show that Michael Halpern knows how to handle this in a balanced way.
Looking past the colourful scenarios we can relax in this contemporary and somewhat eclectic decor style. There are a couple of mid-century elements here and there, which also helps in creating a varied scenario. The mid-century couches, the little modern decor elements, along with a couple of pop culture references just come to show that the client definitely aimed for something unique and matching of his personality.
The best way to define Halpern Design (and Michael Halpern, for that matter) is as a “design chameleon“, able to adapt to any type of scenario and challenge that comes his way. Elements, such as quality British craftsmanship, rich finishes, and intricate detailing are some of the things we can find through a quick glance of the company’s portfolio. This is reflective of not only the designer’s varied personality but also of the diversity that the NY designer has in his projects.
